Iceland  confirmed their road to Euro 2016 after settling draw against Kazakistan. In their group matches, Iceland thrashed strong Netherlands in both fixtures of home and away and defeated Turkey and Czech Rebuplic. With total Six wins,Two draws and two loses, Iceland confirmed their Spot for Euro 2016 as being runner-off of their respective qualifier Group. Infact, Iceland is the smallest team to play in Euro 2016.

Despite the population of the country being Sparsely populated,the progress Iceland has done in football is praisable. There are many Seniors players who have been playing accross Europe in countries like England, Holland and Spain.

Iceland is Coached by  Lars Lagerback and Heimir Hallgrimsson .

Lars Lagerback has been managing the club Since 2011. Previously Lars was manager for Sweden,the country where he was born and played his senior football career. Lagerback managed Sweden for 11 years and during his period ,Sweden were able to taste the five consecutive Championships.

Likewise Heimir Hallgrimsson firstly worked as an assistant for Iceland National Football team and after year 2013 he joined hand of Lars Lagerback to take responsibility of country where he also served as a Senior Footballer.

 With the golden generation of football players on the squad, it should not be astonishing to the world that Iceland made their road to Euro 2016 nailing the teams like Holland on the group.

With just 330,000 total population in the country, Iceland has managed to make road to the Euro ,credit to the exemplary management of football in the country. With the introduction of Lars Lagerback and Heimir Hallgrimsson as the head coach of the country,they have managed to influence and bring positive changes on the mentality of players.

Gylfi Sigurðsson

The star-prolific player in the country has been associated with the English Club Swansea. The player has already scored 9 Goals for his Club. In International football, Sigurosson is undoubtedly one of the key player for Iceland. He made his senior side debut on  year 2010 and since then  has already earned 30 caps for the country.
